Upon arrival at subic, the marine park staff will extend a heartly welcome and of course will provide an extensive briefing which includes the history of the park and details of the upcoming dive with the whales. Top priority is the safety of the whales and the divers. After checking all the dive equipment a short walk will bring you to the entry point and the dive can begin for a maximum of four divers.
(Photos: Kai Velling) The tension for both parties is rising and the intelligent habitants, tonka, coral, hook and pownder are ready to meet their new friends. Underwater by now, the waiting begins and everyone looks around and wants to be the first to see the whales approaching. Suddenly they appear out of the blue. It is not a normal dive where the diver check out the marine life. On this dive the whales check out you, they want to know which diver it might be easieast to play, which diver is the friedliest. You can feel their communication on your skin. Suddenly it starts, the whales are coming closer and they want to be stroked tenderly and to play with you. It is an unbelievable experience to be so close with them underwater. Of course you can take a camera with you and with a little luck you get an extraordinary shot of them. Divers who believe they have already seen everything under water will change their opinion and state that a dive with whales is an unmatched experience which is to compare with nothing what they have done under water before.
(Photos: Norbert Probst - thank you) At the end of the dive it is of course very important to provide a small bonus and a thanks to the whales. Each diver will get some fish to feed a whale at the shallow portion of the bay. At this time it is possible to have pictures taken to prove that this dive was real and not a dream.
